SHE & BCM Officer
Business Overview
This is a busy, fast paced operation which offers many challenges and opportunities for the right person. This position is based at Boksburg, Gauteng.
Role Outline
The purpose of this role is to ensure compliance and governance to DHL standards and legal legislation requirements across the different disciplines. To identify current and potential risks affecting the business and to mitigate such risks. To provide timeous and accurate reporting on all Risk and H&S related issues)

General Accountabilities
- Day to day Inspection onsite and with offsite guards
- Report any risk issues if necessary
- Monthly after-hours inspection of depot and guarding service provider/s.
- Re-active and pro-active initiatives.
- Investigation of risk/security/ OHS incidents.
- Compliance with legal prerequisites.
- Assist in completion of audit and self-assessments.
- Manage security of depot.
- Liaison with service providers and SAPS.
- Training of staff on security and operations related issues.
- Loss investigation and prevention.
SHEQ Management
- Implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of OHASA standards.
- Risk Identification process.
- Maintain Minimum Safety Standards (MSS) at 100%.
- Manage Business Continuity Plan.
- Adhere to cost targets.
- Ensuring all contractors, staff and visitors are inducted.
- Manage and maintain SHE management system aligned to ISO45001/18001 and ISO14001.
- Project Management.
- Comply with Global H &S Training.
- Establish Safety Committees and arrange compliance meetings.
- Incident reporting of Risk and OHS related incidents.
- Implement and manage Quality management system.
BCM
- Be responsible for the implementation of the Group Business Continuity Management Strategy at site level.
- Ensure BCM compliance to DPDHL and DSC operational standards.
- Manage a suitable and sufficient review procedure for the plan at intervals not exceeding 6months
- Prepare the plan for periodic audit when needed and assist in its conduct.
- Ensure that all BCM events are input into the Logics database within 48 hours of the incident occurring.
Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12 Certificate
- SAMTRAC/NEBOSH/NOSA (Studying Towards)
- 2-3 Years work experience in Logistics
- Tertiary qualification (Advantageous), RPL will also be considered
